Oral Histories - Barbara, Hydon Hill
An extract from an oral history video recorded with Barbara at Hydon Hill. Subtitles are available. Barbara talks about growing up as a Roman Catholic and the impact this had on her as a child. After working in the food section of a department store, she decided to enter a convent and came out after 6 years to start care work. After her accident, re-enablement workers introduced her to the work of Leonard Cheshire where she started to volunteer in the sweet shop and did a ‘wing walk’.
